Established in 2013
U-Turn originated from the owner's personal experience, as he envisioned aiding Black men in their re-entry into society after prison.
Starting in
North Minneapolis
Beginning with a re-entry home in North Minneapolis, the initiative expanded to address broader needs within the local Black community.
Servicing the Community
Services encompass black family resources, mentorship, employment strategies, home resources, aid for recovering addicts, and more. In 2020, amidst a global crisis, U Turn attained nonprofit status (501(c)(3)), fully realizing its concept.

Goals
We support families by providing resources for clothes, food, shelter and resources to enrich their lives.
Those in recovery can receive help with costs towards shelter, food & transportation.
We collaborate with others to provide the support channels needed to uplift the Black Community.
The goal is to empower Black People, to close the gap of inequity and to enrich ALL that are involved.
